I'm setting up this site as a repository for memories and archives from the Franklin Commune also known as Earthworks. Founded in February of 1970 on a defunct dairy farm with a goal of self sufficiency. There were a number of other Communes at the time and they formed a loose confederacy dubbed "Free Vermont". These are images and writings of that time.

Hi Dylan, There at the farm, was once a dog named Truman. He was a blue tick Hound of a good, strong stature. Now what was interesting about Truman was that he was patient but singular in his intent. He would he would wait until you could not resist throwing that rock he had laid on you foot! I do not know what became of Truman but he was some dog to see!
